Viewpoints of Lisbon

Lisbon

We start off with Lisbon, visiting viewpoint to viewpoint, descovering the light, art and history of Lisbon, from it's highest points. We visit the Fado museum, and enjoy some delicious food at one of the most exclusive places in Lisbon.

At the end of the day we enjoy a night of Fado accompanied by some Portuguese Tapas.

Heritage and Wine

Óbidos - Coimbra - Porto

We leave Lisbon bright and early, towards Óbidos. Here we walk through the portuguese pavement through the local commerce, tourists, street entertainments and the Castle, full of secular stories to tell.

A creative city of Literature, UNESCO named, we will visit the Casa Saramago and the churches converted into bookstores. Then, a taste of the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos is a mandatory stop.

From there, we go to Coimbra, city of students. After a lunch break in downtown Coimbra, we visit the Mondego, the Univeristy and the tragic love history of Pedro and Inês at the enchanted Quinta das Lágrimas.

We end the day with a dinner by the Douro river, and a wine tasting in the Port Wine Cellars.

Douro River Tour

Porto - Mealhada - Fátima - Batalha - Ericeira - Lisbon

After a night tasting the wines, we wake up early and get on a Rabelo boat across the Douro. Afterwards, we do the cultural and architectonic tour of Porto, where we will see up close and personal what makes Porto a amazing city for escaping: the people and places. Now it's time to head for the famous Leitâo da Bairrada (Suckling Pig) - a Portuguese speciality.

The afternoon, spent at the Monastery of Batalha and the religious sanctuary of Fátima a frequent Pope visiting location and the largest prayer area of Portugal. During the afternoon, we have the pleasure of seeing one of the most emblematic buildings in Portugal the Alcobaça Monastery - a 14th Century building where Infante D. Henrique rests.

Upon return to Lisbon, we head to Ericeira for a seafood dinner with a view.

Sintra & Seafood

Lisbon - Sintra - Cascais - Lisbon

Heading off to Sintra and Cascais, we stop for lunch at a typical restaurant in the Sintra village, then a tour of the amazing Palace of Pena followed by a passage through the village centre and the Moorish Castle. In what's considered the socialite village of Portugal, we can learn it's costumes and traditions.

On the way back to Lisbon, we stop at the Guincho Surfing beach and the Boca do Inferno (Hell's mouth) before going to the Bay of Cascais, where we relax in a local restaurant with a refreshing wine menu served with fresh Atlantic fish.

Codfish Route

Lisbon - Seixal - Alcochete - Lisbon

The final day we cross over to Seixal to enjoy the "Codfish Tour" and, for about 4 hours. Here we learn some popular typography, with the Gutenberg technique or from the International plastic Artist Cargaleiro. The afternoon is free, however we suggest a trip to Freeport Alcochete or a calm walk near the south shore of Lisbon.

At night, we return to Lisbon for dinner at a typical Tapas in Bairro Alto.
